Go Big Before You Go Home: Paulson & Nace Made Waves at This Year’s AAJ Conference

Go Big Before You Go Home: Paulson & Nace Made Waves at This Year’s AAJ ConferenceIn July, the American Association for Justice held its annual convention in Boston. It was another well-attended meeting, filled with helpful seminars and panels, networking opportunities and excellent opportunities to make new friends and spend time with old ones.

But the attorneys here at Paulson & Nace, PLLC kept pretty busy at this year’s convention, having been honored with a number of awards and elected positions within the organization.

Firm founder Barry J. Nace was elected Secretary of the Robert L. Habush Endowment. The Endowment offers a wide array of grants not only to AAJ foundations, but also to law schools, think-tanks and academic groups. In this way, it helps to protect the country’s civil justice system through:

  • “Providing consistent public education and research to promote informed public dialogue on, understanding of and appreciation for the civil justice system;
  • Sponsoring prestigious education programs and well-received publications for judges and law professors; and,
  • Funding innovative scholarship and far reaching research on the civil justice system and individual rights.”

Firm partner Christopher T. Nace presented to the Sole Practitioner & Small Firm Section, on Ways to Maximize Attorney Time. He also spoke at the Melvin Belli Seminar about how to mediate with the federal government. During the convention, Chris was elected by the AAJ Board of Governors to a three-year term on its Organization Review Committee. He was also awarded the 2017 Above and Beyond Award. Each year, the AAJ “recognizes AAJ members who have made exceptional contributions to sustain and strengthen the organization” with the Above and Beyond Award.

Partner Matthew A. Nace was also honored during this year’s convention. He was elected Chair-Elect of the Motor Vehicle Collision, Highway, & Premises Liability Section; he has been the Newsletter Editor for this section for years. He was recognized as a graduate of AAJ Leadership Academy, “an initiative of AAJ’s Diversity Committee, [whose goal] is to give AAJ members the skills and techniques needed to make them effective leaders in professional settings, in AAJ, and in their communities.”

We are all very proud of Barry, Chris and Matt. Once again, they have demonstrated their commitment and dedication to improving the civil justice system at every level. We wish them all a successful tenure in their new roles. We expect great things from all of them.
