Paulson & Nace, PLLC Named “Angels” by Corazón de Vida Foundation

When we founded our law firm more than 40 years ago, we did so because we believed that the under-represented deserved a better chance for a better future. We are proud to say that we have helped countless families throughout Washington, D.C. and West Virginia obtain those better futures.

But we also know that not everyone has those opportunities throughout the world. That’s why we support the Corazón de Vida (“CDV”) Foundation, a US-based nonprofit organization supporting Baja orphanages. We feel blessed that our contributions have earned us the title of “Angels” by the Foundation, and it has renewed in us a burning desire to do whatever we can for those who need it most.

About the Corazón de Vida Foundation

Baja California is actually a Mexican state. Because Mexico has no foster care system, programs and foundations like the CDV do the crucial work of protecting homeless children who would otherwise be on the streets. The Corazón de Vida Foundation was founded in 1994 by Hilda Pacheco-Taylor, who grew up in an orphanage herself. After returning to her childhood home and seeing its disrepair, she vowed to help orphanages get the support and they help they needed from sponsors, and CDV was born.

The Foundations currently helps 11 different orphanages throughout the Baja region, and it entirely dependent upon sponsorship. Their goal is to “support and empower” the children within these orphanages and contributions are used to provide:

  • Life Sustaining Support. Food, water, and shelter with working utilities are the basis of any orphanage that hopes to provide for homeless children.
  • Quality of Life Improvements. Financial support can help children obtain the medical and dental care they need, and overhaul orphanages in need of structural repair. The CDV also takes the children on bus trips – because every child deserves some fun!
  • Education. The Corazón de Vida Foundation ensures the education of its children through generous financial support. The Foundation helps to provide transportation, school uniforms and tuition payments. It also offers career guidance and college prep.

Paulson & Nace, PLLC believes that part of being a responsible citizen includes giving a voice to the voiceless. It’s what we do here at home in Washington, D.C. and throughout West Virginia, and what we will continue to do for the Corazón de Vida Foundation.
