About Best Lawyers’ methodology

Christopher T. Nace and Barry J. Nace Named to The Best Lawyers in America© Best Lawyers is “is the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession.” For the last 30 years, attorneys in 75 countries, practicing in more than 140 areas of law, have taken the time to nominate the men and women they feel are the best at what they do. This year, more than 12 million attorneys were nominated for Best Lawyers, and just over 82,000 world-wide made the cut.

Once a lawyer is nominated, his or her nomination is reviewed by attorneys who are currently included in Best Lawyers themselves. That information is then collected and reviewed. Lawyers who fit the bill, so to speak, are then put through an eligibility check, to ensure that they fulfill the requirement of being in good standing with their local bar associations. The results are then released.

In order to be eligible for Best Lawyers, an attorney must be nominated by someone other than him or herself. The rating system is proprietary, but nominees must receive a certain amount of positive reviews in order to proceed. While any lawyer wo has been recognized by Best Lawyers will automatically be re-nominated the following year, it does not mean that the nominee will make the cut each year.

An attorney can be nominated for any reason, but most people nominate attorneys for a specific area of expertise. Chris Nace was selected for his work in two separate areas: personal injury litigation and medical malpractice law. Barry Nace was selected for three areas: medical malpractice, product liability and personal injury litigation. This is a testament to their skill as trial lawyers, as well as their ability to handle complex injury and malpractice case.

We are all very proud of Barry and Chris for their selection. It is certainly well-deserved. Congratulations, gentlemen!
