Barry Nace Achieves Life Member Status in the American Law InstitutePaulson & Nace, PLLC is proud to announce that founding partner, Barry J. Nace, has achieved the rank of Life Member of the American Law Institute (ALI). The ALI confers the honor of Life Member on members who have contributed 25 years of service to the American Law Institute’s endeavors. Founded in 1923, the ALI’s mission is to promote the clarification and simplification of the law, to help it adapt more closely to the needs of the people, and to more effectively facilitate the administration of justice.

The American Law Institute elects, “individuals who reflect the excellence and diversity of today’s legal profession.” Lawyers are nominated for election to membership confidentially, and a nomination must be supported by two ALI members.

Protecting the civil justice system for more than 40 years

With a focus on medical malpractice and products liability, Barry J. Nace has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best trial attorneys in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. He has been awarded Attorney of the year by the D.C. Trial Lawyers Association, a four-time finalist for Attorney of the Year by the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice for his successful cases, and he has been recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers in America® for the past 20 years. Mr. Nace has also been repeatedly selected one of the Top 100 lawyers in metropolitan Washington, D.C., and has received mentions in “Who’s Who in American Law.”

Mr. Nace is a past president of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). He also served for two years as Chair of AAJ’s Political Action Committee. He is the only person elected twice to serve as president of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, DC (TLA-DC), and he was elected by his peers as a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has served as president of the National Board of Trial Advocacy, was a former board member of the Public Justice Foundation (he is also a founding member) and was named an Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the highest rank they offer.
